I’ve been researching the Eng family restaurants in Chicago and I came across a new one this weekend. It operated in Chicago’s Garfield Park during the 1920s, 30s or 40s. Anyone remember it? At least now I know why I (Monica Eng) like take out fried chicken so much.

Hear Louisa Chu and me talk to Lao Sze Chuan chef Tony Hu talk about how he balances scary authentic dishes with tourist friendly fare; try some brain dumplings; sample blood cake and try to figure out our “mystery food sound” on the Scary episode of Chewing the Fat.
